Sound and Fury Productions, in conjunction with Seattle Musical Theater, proudly presents Macbeth, arguably Shakespeare’s most mythic, bloody, and passionate play.

This altered version of the original includes parts of the elaborated restoration revival by Shakespeare’s (self-proclaimed) son, Sir William D’avennant.  In this version, all the murder, treachery, and blinding ambition is retained, but we are shown far more complex relationships, and their emotional depths.  The result is a richer, more human play which becomes even more powerful and, in its own way, more disturbing.

It’s the very accessible story of ambition for the sake of love, and the destruction it brings:  Blood begets blood.  It has been played over and over in many contexts and in many styles throughout life and history up to the present time.
